Capital Clean Up is the Mayor’s partnership campaign to help Londoners get together to spruce up their city. It’s part of the wider Team London volunteering programme and is supported by McDonald’s.

PCEG, in addition to our regular work to keep Plumstead Common clean and beautiful, has undertaken particular projects with the help of a grant from the GLA for essential tools and equipment. We have given these specific days the umbrella title “Loving Where We Live”.

Unfortunately, the shed which we built to house our equipment was destroyed in an aggressive arson attack just one month after we erected it.

Fortunately, members  of the local community, together with the Green Party and a local church group have given us just over £300 to help us recover the losses.

We have tasked ourselves with some specific areas, using our own volunteers, some of the Community Work Placement workers that have been committed to working with us and a few youngsters from the Headstart programme.
